If you are running your own business, it is very important to set up a digital presence for your business. Social media accounts are not enough for branding.

In this case, you need a website. But when you think about a website, there is another term that comes to your mind. That is “Landing Page”. Although these things look the same, there is a difference between them in their purpose. First, you need to understand your purpose and then you need to choose what you need. Let’s talk about which option you should choose according to your purpose.

What is a website?

The website is the information hub of your business. It is a collection of interconnected pages that provide comprehensive information about your brand, services, products, team, and company values.

Primary Goal: Providing information about your business and building long-term brand authority.

Key Features: Homepage, About Us page, blog, contact forms, and multi-layered navigation menus.

What is a landing page?

A landing page is a single page created for a specific advertising campaign. If you need to get visitors for one specific action, a landing page is the best option.

Primary Goal: Conversion, Lead generation

Key Features: An attractive headline, describe benefits, client testimonials, and a single Call to Action (CTA).

How to Decide What You Need

To make the right choice, ask yourself these three questions:

  • What is my immediate goal? If you are running a marketing campaign to see your e-book, single Service or a single product, a landing page is the choice. If you want your customers to explore your brand (About, History, Gallery, blog), build a website
  • How much traffic do I have? Websites require consistent SEO effort to rank, but landing pages are normally open for paid traffic. That means landing pages are suitable for immediate marketing campaigns.
  • Are there distractions? A website is created for exploring information of a business. Then there are some distractions. But a landing page is created for a specific action, such as clicking a button, filling a form (Lead generation), buying something, etc. There is no distraction in a landing page.

The Verdict: Do You Need Both?

For most growing businesses, the answer is yes. By using both effectively, you ensure that you are not just reaching people—you are capturing them
